Bodega Bouza Riesling Pan de Azúcar 2022

  • Crisp White
  • Citrus Fruits
  • Mineral Finish

A rare and luminous Riesling from Uruguay’s granite coast. Grown on the slopes of Pan de Azúcar hill in Maldonado, just miles from the Atlantic, this wine reflects the ocean’s cool breezes and the mineral depth of ancient granite soils. The 2020 vintage shines with lime blossom, green apple, and sea-spray salinity, balanced by crystalline acidity and elegant texture. Pure, vibrant, and endlessly refreshing — a benchmark for Uruguay’s rising white-wine craft.

MORE INFORMATION

$34.99

"This is one of the wines I most enjoy introducing to people. Almost everyone has an idea of what Riesling should taste like, and this bottle always seems to change that. Watching someone discover a different side of both Riesling and Uruguay never gets old."

About This Wine

Where does this wine come from?

This Riesling comes from Bouza’s Pan de Azúcar vineyard in Maldonado, where stony, well-drained soils and the influence of Uruguay’s southeastern landscape create a distinctly fresh expression of the grape. Hand-harvested fruit and extended bottle aging allow the wine to develop texture and complexity without losing the bright acidity that defines the site.

Who makes this wine?

Eduardo Boido

Winemaker Eduardo Boido has helped establish Bodega Bouza as one of Uruguay's benchmark estates through meticulous vineyard management and a philosophy that values precision over intervention. Every vineyard block is harvested and vinified separately, allowing each wine to reflect its origin with clarity, balance, and authenticity. His careful attention to detail has earned Bouza international recognition for producing some of the country's most refined wines.

Why did we choose this wine?

Pan de Azúcar, Maldonado, Uruguay. We chose this wine because mature Uruguayan Riesling is exceptionally difficult to find. The 2022 offers the freshness and mineral character of Pan de Azúcar with an additional layer of development from time in bottle, making it a rare opportunity to experience how beautifully Uruguay’s coastal whites can evolve.

Can you ship to my state?

We ship to 42 States. We do not ship to UT, LA, MS, KY, HI, DE, PA, AK
