Description
Crafted from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown in mass-selection vines planted in 1981 on Rivera’s distinctive red-sand (Batoví) soils, this wine embodies both terroir and finesse. Hand-harvested fruit is gently whole-cluster pressed and cold-settled at 12 °C, then fermented spontaneously with native yeasts in French oak barrels, while 50% is tank-fermented to preserve freshness.
In the glass, it shows a pale yellow color with a viscous texture. The bouquet reveals melon, red apple, and pineapple, with delicate hints of toasted almond and honey on the nose On the palate, it is dry, complex, and lively, with bright acidity, layered fruit, and a long, fresh finish.
Since its founding, the Carrau family has applied low-intervention, gravity-driven winemaking in one of Uruguay’s purest environments — the result is a deeply expressive Chardonnay that marries elegance and place.

Analytical Data
Originally tried this wine at a local restaurant, couldn't believe I was able to find it so quickly online. The Chardonnay is crisp, perfectly balanced, and very refreshing. A perfect way to battle the Florida heat.
