Sauvignon Blanc is one of the world's most expressive white grape varieties, capable of capturing both place and personality with remarkable clarity. At Pizzorno Family Estates, the Don Próspero Sauvignon Blanc was created to highlight the freshness, energy, and aromatic intensity that Uruguay's coastal climate can achieve while drawing inspiration from one of the variety's most celebrated winemaking traditions.
To achieve this vision, Pizzorno collaborated with Duncan Killiner of New Zealand, a specialist in Sauvignon Blanc whose expertise helped shape the wine's vibrant and distinctive style. Fruit is sourced from multiple vineyard parcels within Canelones, each harvested at different stages of maturity to capture a complete range of aromas, flavors, and textures. This careful approach allows the winery to preserve freshness while building complexity and balance.
Pale yellow with brilliant green reflections, the wine opens with aromas of grapefruit, lime, and green apple layered over the classic herbal notes that define great Sauvignon Blanc. On the palate, it is lively and refreshing, driven by bright acidity and a clean, persistent finish. Part of the Don Próspero collection, it honors founder Don Próspero Pizzorno, whose commitment to quality and innovation continues to guide four generations of family winemaking.
