About This Wine

Where does this wine come from?

Bodega Santa Rosa, Colón, Montevideo, Uruguay. Founded in 1898, Bodega Santa Rosa is one of Uruguay's historic wineries, located in the Colón neighborhood on the outskirts of Montevideo. After more than a century of winemaking, the estate entered a new chapter when it was acquired by the Passadore family in 2021. Today, the winery blends historic roots with renewed energy, crafting approachable wines that celebrate Uruguay's long tradition of sharing great bottles around the table.

Who makes this wine?

Juan José Passadore

Juan José Passadore purchased Bodega Santa Rosa in 2021 with a vision of restoring one of Uruguay's historic wine estates. Rather than reinventing its identity, he has focused on honoring the winery's legacy while modernizing its vineyards, cellar, and portfolio. His work has given new life to a producer whose history stretches back more than 125 years.

We chose this wine because it brings a joyful side of Uruguayan sparkling wine to the table. Its gentle sweetness, lively bubbles, and vibrant fruit make it equally at home at celebrations, brunches, and casual gatherings—proof that not every sparkling wine needs a formal occasion.
