Tucked between the Atlantic Ocean and the wide open pampa, Uruguay is one of South America's smallest countries and one of its best kept wine secrets. Cool ocean breezes, warm days, and ancient clay, limestone, and granite soils create a climate unlike anywhere else on the continent. It's a land of small, family run estates where wine is made with patience and pride, close to the land and close to the coast.
The result is wine with a real sense of place. Uruguay is best known for Tannat, its bold but approachable signature red, alongside crisp coastal Albariño and a growing range of elegant whites, sparkling, and rosé. These are wines built for the table: fresh, balanced, and food friendly, with character you won't find in bigger, warmer regions. Once you taste one, it's hard to go back.
So Much More Than Wine
Uruguay Wine Company began with a return home. In 2024, we traveled back to Uruguay and found ourselves surrounded by vineyards, harvest season, and the warmth of shared tables. What moved us wasn't nostalgia. It was pride. Pride in a small coastal country producing wines with depth, balance, and quiet confidence. That experience sparked a simple idea: to share the soul of Uruguay through the bottles that carry its land, history, and family legacy.
Today, Uruguay Wine Company is a family-led venture built between two shores. Together, we curate wines we would proudly pour at our own table, thoughtful, expressive, and rooted in place.
Uruguay produces less than 1% of the world's wine, yet its top estates consistently earn global recognition. Atlantic breezes, granite-rich soils, and small-scale farming create wines that are bold yet balanced, fresh yet structured, powerful without heaviness. Our mission is simple: to build a bridge between Uruguay and your table, one story, one bottle, one sip at a time.
Our Promise
"We’re here to share stories in every bottle, every box, every sip. Uruguay Wine Company exists as an invitation to experience a country the way we've come to love it: glass by glass, soul to soul."
~ PAOLA & JASON, URUGUAY WINE CO.
