Oceanico Malbec

$24.99

"Rocha has a way of slowing everything down. Whenever I drink this Malbec, I think about the ocean breeze, open landscapes, and the peaceful feeling that comes from being surrounded by nature. It's a wine I enjoy when I want to slow down and simply enjoy the moment."

CO-FOUNDER, URUGUAY WINE CO.

About This Wine

Where does this wine come from?

Dominio Cassis, Lomas de Paloma, Rocha, Uruguay. Nestled in the rugged hills of Lomas de Paloma in Uruguay's Rocha department, Dominio Cassis is one of the country's closest vineyards to the Atlantic Ocean. Cool maritime breezes, rocky soils, and long growing seasons shape wines with remarkable freshness, vibrant acidity, and unmistakable coastal character. This wild corner of southeastern Uruguay offers a terroir unlike any other in the country, producing wines that are both elegant and deeply expressive of place.

Who makes this wine?

Carlos Tomasi

Fourth-generation winemaker Carlos Tomasi founded Dominio Cassis with a vision of showcasing the untapped potential of Uruguay's Atlantic coast. By farming low-yield vineyards just miles from the ocean, he crafts wines that prioritize purity, balance, and a true sense of place. His philosophy is simple: let Rocha's maritime climate and rugged landscape speak through every bottle.

Why did we choose this wine?

We chose this wine because it offers a completely different perspective on Malbec. Instead of emphasizing richness alone, Rocha's Atlantic climate brings freshness, lifted aromatics, and remarkable balance. It's proof that Uruguay's coast can produce elegant, site-driven reds every bit as compelling as its whites.

Can you ship to my state?

We ship to 42 States. We do not ship to UT, LA, MS, KY, HI, DE, PA, AK
