Bodega Bouza Riesling Pan de Azúcar 2023

  • Crisp White
  • Citrus Fruits
  • Mineral Finish

From Bouza’s granite-rich Pan de Azúcar vineyard, this 2023 Riesling delivers luminous aromatics of orange blossom, grapefruit, tangerine, and subtle ginger over a crystalline mineral backbone. On the palate, it shows incisive acidity, medium-to-full body, layered orchard fruit, and a clean saline finish with a refined bitter edge. Hand-harvested, stainless-steel fermented, and aged over 12 months in bottle, it balances coastal freshness with serious structure. Ideal with ceviche, oysters, grilled fish, and light Asian cuisine.

MORE INFORMATION

About This Wine

Where does this wine come from?

Pan de Azúcar, Maldonado, Uruguay. Grown in Bouza’s Pan de Azúcar vineyard in Maldonado, this 100% Riesling reflects a rocky, low-fertility site with excellent drainage. The grapes were harvested by hand, carefully selected and aged in bottle for more than 12 months, preserving the wine’s vivid acidity while allowing its fruit and texture to become more expressive.

Who makes this wine?

Eduardo Boido

Winemaker Eduardo Boido has helped establish Bodega Bouza as one of Uruguay's benchmark estates through meticulous vineyard management and a philosophy that values precision over intervention. Every vineyard block is harvested and vinified separately, allowing each wine to reflect its origin with clarity, balance, and authenticity. His careful attention to detail has earned Bouza international recognition for producing some of the country's most refined wines.

Why did we choose this wine?

We chose this wine because it shows how naturally Riesling fits Uruguay’s cooler southeastern landscape. Vibrant, textured and remarkably long, it offers a compelling alternative to the country’s better-known Albariños while revealing another side of Maldonado’s potential. Its 2023 vintage also received 95 points from Tim Atkin MW.

Can you ship to my state?

We ship to 42 States. We do not ship to UT, LA, MS, KY, HI, DE, PA, AK
