Crafted from 100% Muscat Ottonel in clay-rich Canelones vineyards, this vibrant skin-contact orange wine is a true testament to Proyecto Nakkal’s low-intervention ethos. The grapes are hand-harvested, fermented with native yeasts in cement, and spend time aging on their skins to extract texture, depth, and complexity. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with zero added sulfites, “An For” is at once playful and profound.

In the glass, it presents a turbid yellow-orange hue, with expressive aromas of tangerine, apricot, and peach, complemented by a hint of resin and kumquat On the palate, this wine is dry, bright, and medium-bodied, with high acidity and subtle tannic grip that carry its juicy fruit and floral spice finish.

Proyecto Nakkal was founded by childhood friends Santiago Degásperi and Nicolás Monforte, who embrace minimal intervention, moon-cycle harvesting, and sustainable farming. “An For” captures Uruguay’s natural wine evolution in a glass—raw, energetic, and refreshingly authentic.

About This Wine

Where does this wine come from?

Proyecto Nakkal, Canelones, Uruguay. Born in the vineyards of Canelones, Proyecto Nakkal is a small, independent winery dedicated to exploring the freer side of Uruguayan wine. Working with organically farmed vineyards and minimal intervention in the cellar, the project embraces spontaneous fermentation, native yeasts, and traditional techniques that allow each wine to reflect both the vineyard and the vintage. Every bottle is crafted with curiosity, authenticity, and a belief that wine should be as joyful as it is expressive.

Who makes this wine?

Facundo Nakkal

Winemaker Facundo Nakkal founded Proyecto Nakkal with a simple philosophy: make honest wines with as little intervention as possible. Inspired by traditional winemaking methods and driven by curiosity rather than convention, he creates wines that celebrate freshness, texture, and individuality. Each release is intentionally small, expressive, and designed to tell the story of Uruguay from a different perspective.

We chose this wine because it invites people to discover orange wine in its purest form. Made from Muscat Ottonel using skin contact and minimal intervention, it offers vibrant citrus, stone fruit, gentle tannins, and remarkable texture. It's adventurous without being intimidating—a perfect introduction to one of wine's oldest styles.
