Description
From the Progreso appellation in Canelones, Uruguay, this 100% Tannat is crafted by Santiago Deicas using an ancient winemaking method. Grapes from sustainably farmed vineyards (65 hl/ha yield) are fermented with native yeasts in buried clay amphorae, echoing techniques first used 7,000 years ago. No additives, no oak influence — just grapes, clay, and time.
The result is a wine of simple purity and freshness, bottled under cork, vegan and vegetarian friendly.
In the glass, it shows deep ruby hues with seductive aromas of dark berries, clay earth, and chocolate notes. On the palate, it’s fresh and alive — almost indescribably so — with a natural balance of fruit, minerality, and texture. Elegant, long, and timeless.
Serve: Cool room temperature, in a wide red glass.
Pair with: Roasted lamb or beef, earthy mushroom dishes, or aged hard cheeses.
Cellaring potential: Up to 8 years.
